1-877-FEMINIST COCKTAIL PARTY a telephone hotline for everybody. It is a multilingual conversation around the many different forms of feminism. People are invited to call in via flyers with the 1-877-FEMINiST COCKTAIL PARTY phone number on tear away tabs. The flyers are in Spanish, English, Chinese, Russian, Arabic, Polish, Korean, French, Yiddish, Bengali with hopes of further inclusivity. The hotline includes all people in its realization and aims to actively involve participants in the creative process. Ultimately, people are invited to participate in fielding phone calls and establishing an ongoing narrative around the many different forms of feminism via the hotline.

Paradise Glossed: The Circular Language of Ownership is a roaming assembly of participatory group art walks with people who identify as women investigating and contesting the aesthetic and social concerns present in the confluence of historical trails and widely romanticized narratives of New York’s Hudson Valley. PG aims to create visibility and dialogue about current global matters focusing on women’s occupation of public space while disrupting repetitions of stylized narratives to re-figure and explore concepts of a body/the body/bodies in public. At the same time Harriet Tubman led slaves to freedom on the Underground Railroad throughout Hudson Valley, NY, another movement was underway documenting the region’s landscape. Thomas Cole, founder of the Hudson River School of Painting, arrived in the Hudson Valley. He was captured by the scenery and promptly set out on sketching trips that lead to an aesthetic celebration of the region’s landscape making the area popular while negating a multiplicity of bodies and narratives.

Walk Exchange Co-founder, a cooperative that creates experimental walking pedagogy and creative group walks that emphasize the body as way to transmit and produce knowledge. http://www.walkexchange.org
